Meta-Analysis: Effects of Unsafe Action and Work Experience on Occupational Exposure to Needlestick Injury among Health Workers in the Hospital

Background: Needlestick injury is a dangerous work accident that causes blood contact with pa- tients and at risk of being infected borne diseases such as hepatitis B virus (HBV), C (HCV), human immunodeficiency (HIV). The purpose this study was to analyze the influence unsafe behavior factors on incidence accidents due needlestick health workers in hospitals. Subjects Method: This research conducted using systematic review meta-analysis design PICO, population: workers, intervention: action lack experience. Comparison: safe good experience, Outcome: Injury (NSI) incident. articles used came from 4 databases, namely Pubmed, ScienceDirect, ProQuest Google scholar. keywords article are ("Needle Stick Injury" or "Sharp Injury") AND aOR. included full paper articles, observational designs, 2011-2021 size relationship between Adj Odds Ratio Results: A total 19 studies (case-control cross-sectional) 28,487 African Continent (Egypt Ethiopia), Asian (Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia Indonesia) European (Bosnia Herzegovina) were analyzed. From data processing, it found increased hospitals by 2.79 times higher than who behaved safely (safe action) statistically significant (aOR= 2.79; 95% CI= 2.18 3.67; p<0.001).
